is it allowed to use wall grip mechanism without damaging fence?

    #2006

Yes. However only the inner surface and top surface of the wall can be accessed. So, you will need to grab the fence without touching it from outside.

What about shuttlecock?? Is it true that we can fill any material inside (not necessary natural or synthetic fiber) and cover it from outside with material (natural or synthetic fiber)

    #2009

Yes. This understanding is correct however, it is prohibited to put sharp objects, metals, materials that contain a lot of liquid, magnets and electronic circuit in the shuttle cock and the outside material should be natural or synthetic fiber.

    ??

The information regarding colors and materials has been released by robocon Vietnam in the ‘appendix’.

As far as local paint codes are concerned, currently they are to be visually matched.

Does the shape of shuttlecock needs to be spherical? Can it be of some other geometrical shape like cube/pyramid/cone, etc.?

    #2017

It is not mandatory to have a spherical shuttlecock. However, if other shapes are made, the prescribed rules must be followed.

It is given that weight of (rack+manual+automatical) <=50 kg.. Is the weight of rack considering weight of shuttlecock? Also, is it that (manual+rack<=25 kg) and automatic <=25 kg (total =50 kg) ….. Or as previously said (automatical+manual+rack<=50 kg)

    #2022

According to FAQ B-2, the weight of automatic+manual+rack should be less than 50kg.
According to FAQ E-6, size/weight of robot does not include shuttlecock.

Do we have a tolerance in dimensions and/or weight of the robot??

    #2027

Sorry for the late reply considering that robocon 2018 has concluded.
In the rulebooks nothing is ever mentioned regarding any tolerance about robot weight and size. But in India, it majorly depends on the weight and measurements official. So, if you are lucky they might just overlook any minor exceeding. However, this could be only for a match and hence it’s best to be in limits right from the start and plan and design your robot accordingly.
